Therapy

  •  My work with individuals begins with learning about your history on a personal and collective level. In the first several sessions, I will gather this information and understand what you are wanting to work towards in therapy. In the first few months, we will build our rapport and develop our relationship with each other. I have a warm, empathetic and intuitive approach. My ultimate goal is to create a sacred and safe space for you. From this point, the work usually deepens as I continue to learn about you, your unique place in the world and how you want to make change for yourself and for your communities.

  •  I begin my work with couples by learning about your relationship and family histories. We also look at your intersecting identities and how that impacts the relationship. I use Emotionally Focused Therapy to learn about your relationship cycle and patterns. We will identify attachment styles, common behaviors, triggers for conflict, perceptions of each other, and common reactions. I strive to create a non-judgmental space where each of you can then share your vulnerabilities. You will also practice communicating these feelings directly with your partner in the sessions.

  • My work with children begins with meeting with the parent for the first session. We will discuss your child’s history, their current behaviors and desired goals. From there, I meet with the child one on one. We can also check in with each other as the therapy continues. With my kid clients, I incorporate bibliotherapy, expressive arts, imaginary play, music and yoga. My clients can then identify and name their emotions, access different parts of themself through the arts and music, and regulate their emotions through breathing and stretching.

  • I provide supervision to MFT and ASW associates. I have experience facilitating individual and group supervision in individual and group private practice settings. I create a safe environment for associates to explore what needs to be unlearned in our field including power dynamics in the supervisory relationship. Supervision can also be a space to examine ourselves as therapists and how our own stories and identities affect our client work. I collaborate with associates to hold our clients in holistic ways honoring their full identities and experiences. In our supervision work together, we can learn how to advocate for ourselves, for our clients and for the greater community.

Astrotherapy

I began studying astrology informally when I was 14. I began reading books and looking at astrological charts. I also worked with tarot and dream work to examine patterns in my life and to strengthen my intuition. These studies continued through my adulthood as I learned more about myself through my natal chart and astrological transits over the years.
